Back from Holidays

Well, I'm back in the office after taking a few days off. I have my work cut out for me, spending much of today working on the sermon for Sunday as well as taking care of a necessary visit. This Sunday is the first "official" worship team Sunday, so I am doing some preparation ahead of that. All told, I feel reasonably well rested...

I'm still musing about the horrible events in Virginia on Monday. The news coverage is over-saturated as per usual, but there are important lessons to be learned from it. I just don't think we can learn it all in just a few days, despite what the media appears to be doing. My only pearl of wisdom is not rush off and look for someone/somthing to blame in the short term...

That, and offering a quiet prayer...

SinFest

Okay... so that's an unusual title, especially this close to Easter. It's the title of a webcomic that I've been following for a number of years now. It's great, but often its content is not exactly "family friendly." However, it does deal with existential issues, morality, theology, and includes God and the Devil as some of its main characters. it occasionally has some absolutely brilliant theological insights... I found one the other day that was so good, I decided to post it on my door.

Here's the comic:

I think this is particularly brilliant, because intentional or not, it makes a wonderful point about Redemption. Did you catch it?
A nice message for Easter.
If you want to see more of it, you can find it at the link below. Just be warned, it's funny and very insightful, but sometimes it delves into mature subject matter and coarse language...
